Heritage & listed building restoration in Farnham
Careful restoration and building work for listed buildings, period houses and older properties in Farnham and the surrounding area. We bring traditional skills and practical project management together, with attention to the fabric and character of each building.
Repairing and reusing original materials
Restoration starts with understanding what is already there. We discuss the condition of the building, the work required and the details that need to be retained. Where the agreed work allows, sound original materials can be recovered and reused.
Our work includes careful repairs, traditional lime plastering and rendering, brickwork restoration and alterations to older homes. We work to the agreed specifications and relevant approvals.
A Grade II barn gable rebuilt
One of our projects involved a Grade II barn that had been altered in the 1970s to become part of a house. The gable end needed extensive restoration.
We carefully demolished the gable, keeping as many original bricks as possible. The bricks were cleaned and reused, with reclaimed bricks added where needed. The wall was rebuilt using traditional methods, NHL 3.5 hydraulic lime and locally sourced sand.
The project gallery follows the work from the original wall through two views at the end of demolition to the rebuilt brickwork.
Coordinating the restoration
A heritage project often brings several stages together. We can manage the agreed programme, materials and subcontractors, from signed-off plans through to completion.
For an initial conversation, send the property location, photographs and a description of the work. Include any drawings, specifications or approvals you already have so that we can understand the scope before pricing it.
